salam and good evening.
2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Bond franchise. this year’s anticipated Bond movie, Skyfall, does stack up as being one of the best, at least in my opinion, in par with the greats such as Goldfinger and Casino Royale. in fact, it’s the first movie that i have watched TWICE on the big screen.
.
(also since it’s me, and i don’t go to the movies that often, it’s quite a big deal..)
James Bond is probably the most recognizable character in the fictional world of espionage, portrayed by actors from Sean Connery all the way to the current 007, Daniel Craig. although each and every one of them had different approaches towards the character, they did manage to capture the essence of what’s it like to be a top spy.
recently, Top Gear made a documentary on Bond, celebrating 50 years of Bond cars. from the advanced car-turn-submarine Lotus Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me, to the gadget-laden seat-ejecting Aston Martin DB5 that made its mark as the ultimate Bond car, each and every one had their very own share of Bond’s bottom.
among featured too, in the program, is the Toyota 2000GT. Bond did not drive this one, nor had it got ejector seats or machine guns, but in my view this was probably the prettiest of them all. built in collaboration with Yamaha, it was widely acknowledged to be Japan’s first supercar. nowadays they are as rare as an honest politician, one would set you close to half a million pounds. it is with no doubt that they are wealthy collectors who have in their possession of this exquisite automobile, being put on display under the gleaming lights of their private garages..
.. and i got the chance to see one up close.

although.. it would be quite an honour, had it been real ._.
nevertheless, a 2100yen 1/24 scale plastic model isn’t that bad to own, dontcha think?
